Captured this Chukar at Antelope Island State Park in the Great Salt Lake as it was disappearing in to the grasses. May was the wettest ever recorded and cold too, which has allowed the grasses to grow but the colder temperatures seems to have brought out a lot of red in them. I've been looking for an excuse to photograph them and when this fine looking Chukar escaped from a rock in to the grasses I took the opportunity. The Chukars seem to be making a come back like the lake waters. The last couple of years they have been hard to find. The rabbits and coyotes are also showing up more often. I went almost a year without seeing a rabbit on the island. Natural cycles are interesting when you get a chance to observe them over the years.
